Neo-jazz
Painting in Style ...
Can there be neo-jazz painting? Yes, you can say with confidence after reading the works of Elena Letina.
Created in the author's technique especially for the concert of the group "Ronin Duo Music", they reflect the essence of the ultra-advanced direction of Ritual Groove Music and music style "zen-funk" (zen-funk), created by pianist, composer and leader Nick Birch .
The presented works, as well as music, are filled with philosophical sense. Minimalism of color, play of light and shadow reach the maximum emotional and expressive effect with a minimum of means.
All these characteristics allow us to speak of the artist's work as a new direction, combining the author's vision and the ideals inherent in traditional Japanese painting. Her paintings follow the basic principles of ancient and unique culture. Considering them, you experience the deep and ephemeral beauty inherent in both nature and the human being (principle - Mono-no avara); This beauty is accompanied by a touch of poetic sadness, with the enjoyment of this transient beauty and the adoration of it. And it presupposes a subtle, refined sensitivity of the human heart, capable of appreciating and chanting all the charm of this impermanent beauty (the Avar principle).
The paintings, on the one hand, are simple and pure with their color and elegance of lines (principle-wabi), but this beauty is mysterious and unusual, it is "otherworldly" beauty, filled with elegant play of meanings, mystery
ambiguity, gloom, sadness, serenity and inspiration (ugen principle).
We can safely say that Elena, managed to implement ancient principles, to create modern works that can excite the souls of people. She breathed into them the truly magical power of aesthetic and psychological influence, leaving an indelible mark on people's minds from the touch of "extraordinary" beauty.
So can there be neo-jazz painting?
Judge you.
